Computerization has been plying very vital role in all walks of our life. The Banking sector too has been greatly benefited by the latest advancements taken place in Information Technology. Amanath Bank visualized the importance of computerization as early as mid 80s and management decide to computerize all the branches. This task was taken-up in three phases.

The Software package developed by Infosys Ltd for Co-operative Banks was first implemented during 1987 in the area of Share accounting and loan accounting. The remarkable success achieved led to extending this for all 39000 share holders and Loan borrowers of 16000.

In later part of 1988 we began computerizing all the transactions of N.R. branch which is close to business areas of Bangalore City. All the branches were progressively computerized from Shivajinagar in 1989, R.T. Nagar Branch in Jan 1990, Siddaiah road branch in Aug 1990 and Tannery road branch in Sept 1990. Now all the 15 branches stand fully computerised.

The fruits of computerization was well perceived by the management and installed SUPER MINI COMPUTER in the year 1991. This facilitated introduction on AMANATH CARD which means the customer can transact in any of 7 branches of the Bank. By this time interlinking of the branches was also done and branch transactions were centralized in the areas of clearing, shares, loans, I.B.R. and pay-rolls. On its 15th anniversary all its five branches were networked, offering greater flexibility to its customers by way of making Deposits/withdrawals from any branch.

The bank performance significantly improved after computerization and the following table indicates the improvement over the years :
